I have just completed the basic construction of a "strip built" kayak. Due to the limited flexibility of some of the timber used not all the strips fit each other perfectly and these small gaps have to be filled - usually with wood filler or hand shaped pieces of the wood being used. This is a tedious job and then - being an aero modeller long ago - I thought I would have a much 'lighter'job if I used balsa for these in fills as they would not be in contact with water as the whole boat is fibre glassed'. Saw your ad., ordered and received my balsa very promptly and find it ideal for the job I had in mind. Thank you Livemoor.
